Background: Driver, Owner Operator, and Fleet Owner from 1977 to 1996.

Operations manager and recruiter from 1996 to 1998. In 1998 I started with the Jones Motor Group. I have several years of experience on both side of the trucking industry.

I have worked with the Jones Motor Group for 12 years. In transportation management that is a long time for most companies. At Jones Motor I’m in the middle of the seniority list.

Jones Motor is a family environment for its employees and drivers. We have many owner operators that have been here for 10 to 20 plus years..

As an owner operator you have seen several changes in the past couple of years.

The industry was on a record high for revenue in 2006. Followed by a big decline that started in the fall of 2008. We have seen fuel prices from 2.00 a gallon all the way to 5.00 plus per gallon. I receive phone calls everyday saying “ My company only gives me half of the fuel surcharge”. Jones Motor is very proud of our fuel surcharges and that you receive 100 percent.

Jones Motor is 100 percent Owner Operator. We have no company trucks to compete with. We have a strong network of agents to keep you loaded with customer freight, good rates and fuel surcharges. We have real people in our central dispatch to help you know what loads are available. We operate a non forced dispatch. You are in charge of the loads you haul and the areas you operate in.

We have a Winners’ Circle program to get you discounts on fuel, tires, and accessorials. We have a trailer program available for lease purchase or rental.

We are looking for good owner operators and drivers to operate in 48 states and Canada.

Jones Motor started operations in 1894. That is quite a legacy of its own. Jones has always been in front of its competition with technology and resources.

I started trucking in 1973. If I'd started with Jones Motor then I would be retired right now.

I trucked with Randy Sutton when he was an O/O in the early 1990's. We lost track for a while and when we ran into each other again in January of 2000 Randy had joined the Jones team. After seeing the rates and amount of freight, I couldn't sign up fast enough.

In 2004 I was selected Overdrive Magazine's Driver of the Year. While attending truck shows and talking with drivers, I give Jones Motor all the credit for my success. We have good rates, fuel surcharges and we make money. In 2003 my son, Ryan Curle, signed on. We are very happy with the family atmosphere at Jones Motor.

What it all comes down to is "Run with the best and good things happen".
